We finally did it. We walked away from our full-time jobs and started our own company. Now we’re asking you to follow along. Join in on the Londr journey.
Someone once said that an entrepreneur is “a person who jumps from a perfectly good airplane and builds his parachute on the way down.” Yes. It feels a lot like that right now. As a software engineer and a serial start-up business owner, we have the tools to build various kinds of “parachutes.” However, not all “parachutes” (or businesses) are created equal. As entrepreneurs we are taking all the steps to ensure that our parachute will support ourselves, our families, and all of the future employees we plan on supporting as we create new jobs.
“We” is Stephen Nielsen — former TSheets/Intuit employee, husband, father of five, cycling guru, and Ben Johnson — former police officer, husband, superhero aficionado, father and serial entrepreneur.
We’ve never been more ready. We have the skills to build this parachute, the support from our families to dive in deep, and admirable investors to provide guidance along the way. The time is now.
So what is it? Londr, is the next big gig-economy platform. We connect people needing their laundry done with people willing to do the wash.
With the click of a button an overwhelmed consumer can outsource one of their least favorite tasks to be picked up from their home, washed, folded, and returned.
With the click of a button a washer can be connected with someone looking for help with their laundry. They can work as much or as little as they desire and earn money in the comforts of their own home.
With the click of many buttons, Londr will grow quickly and be able to offer local jobs, at a time when unemployment rates are at a record high. We didn’t set out to launch our company during an international pandemic, but, here we are. Londr is in an unique position to assist many who have been impacted financially by COVID-19; however we have no intention of encouraging unnecessary interactions during this time. For that reason, we need your help. We have our heads down coding, planning, and developing content; and we are asking you — our colleagues, families and friends, our former co-workers, and everyone in between — please click those buttons. Our goal today is to spread the word and build up our base of Washers. Once COVID-19 subsides and stay-at-home orders are raised, we will begin feeding them jobs in their area.
