Labor Day Weekend is right around the corner. If there is one thing that 2020 has taught us, it is that we need to take advantage of any opportunity we have to get away. Embracing the long weekend allows us to find balance with the stressors of our everyday life. However, there are certain things we must do in preparation of our mini-cation to ensure we set ourselves up for the perfect, stress-free weekend.

  1. Clean your house before you leave.

If you do vacation right, upon returning home you will be exhausted. The last thing you will want to do, is clean. If your schedule allows for a deep clean before your trip, that is ideal; but if not, there are a few small things you should do that will make a big difference:

Clean out your refrigerator to ensure nothing goes bad while you are gone. Take our your trash to avoid awful smells and obnoxious fruit flies taking over your inhabitance. Declutter your living room and ensure your couch has a clean and cozy landing spot where you can relax on your first evening home. Doing these small things will prevent added post-vacation stress.

2. Turn work off.

According to CNN, 55% of workers reported that they did not use all of their vacation days in 2018, and a “total of 768 million days went unused.”

If you’ve planned a trip over Labor Day weekend, you are already doing better than most; but if you are going to take a vacation, take a vacation! Leave your computer at home. Turn your cell phone off. Set up your auto-reply vacation responder email to set expectations. Don’t let your work inhibit your ability to recharge and connect with family and friends.

3. Schedule a job with Londr.

How many loads of laundry do you think you will have to do when you return home from your Labor Day weekend? 3? 5? 247? It certainly feels that way when the realities of life are staring you in the face once again.

Instead of spending two weeks in an endless cycle of wash, dry, repeat; and then watching your “clean” clothes sit in a pile on your floor for days on end, schedule a job for Tuesday, September 8.

Visit londr.com and start a job right now! When you arrive home, throw all your dirty clothes directly into a bag. (Don’t have a Londr bag yet? Put your clothes in a large plastic trash bag this time, and we will make sure you have a Londr bag for your next scheduled job.) The next morning as you are leaving for work, place that bag on your front porch and enjoy the sweet relief of Londr in your life.

Within 24 hours your laundry will be picked up, washed, dried, folded and returned.

Hours upon hours (days upon days) of laundry that would have otherwise been weighing you down will be done with the click of a button and a mere $39 per bag. Londr bags are 39 gallons (aka huge) and 76% of Londr jobs are completed with 1 bag!

Maximize your Labor Day weekend and avoid the post-vacation blues. If you follow the three suggestions above, you will come home refreshed, de-stressed, and ready to tackle a new day.
