Londr - Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

    • How does it work?

Just use our web app to start a job specifying how much laundry you have and any special instructions. You'll then be matched with a washer in your area. Set the laundry out on the porch, and your washer will pick up, wash, dry, fold, and deliver your laundry ready to be put away.

    • How much does it cost?

$39 per bag. When you sign up you'll receive a branded 39 gallon laundry bag to use for Londr, but if you can't wait for the mail simply use a black leaf bag for your first job.

    • Where does Londr operate?

Wherever you are. We are in large cities and small towns all over the USA. If we don't have people in your area yet, we will find people in your area and notify you when you can create a job. Also, the more you share, the more we're there! Please share posts from any of our social platforms and get the Londr love going in your area.

    • Is there a Londr app?

Releasing Londr in the app stores is top priority. It will be coming very soon. In the meantime you can still use our beta product as both a consumer and a washer. Visit our sign up page to get started.

    • What if I have allergies? Or special requests?

Need your clothes washed in a home free from pets? Need dye and fragrance free detergent? Just say so in the special instructions on the job. Our washers are asked to honor any special instructions you give, or to not take your job.

    • What if I need special detergents?

Simply say so when you create a job, for example, "I have one bag of laundry to be picked up ASAP, please only use dye free detergent and no dryer sheets"

    • What about my underwear?

This is honestly our most asked question! If you don't feel comfortable sending something: Don't! For most of our customers, underwear makes up a very small portion of their laundry. After you've sent 95% of your clothes, you'd be surprised how manageable it feels just washing a few undies.

Similarly, some people may be particular about EVERY article of clothing they have; in that case, they could still send the household bedding and towels once a month and save a ton of time on what is usually the biggest of laundry days.

    • Do you offer dry cleaning?

Short answer: No. Because we are a peer-to-peer service our washer's don't have the equipment to offer dry cleaning.

    • Will you hang clothes instead of folding them?

That may be a possibility at the discretion of the washer. While it is not part of our core service, customers have been known to send hangers with their clothes, and washers have been known to put things on hangers. If you want things hung instead of folded, be sure to specify this in your text message when you create a job.

    • Do you press clothes?

No. Our service is primarily wash/dry/fold.

    • How do I receive jobs?

Jobs are broadcast to all washers within range of a customer. Accept a job by following the link in the text, and pressing 'Take This Job'. Then provide updates to your customer when you pick up and deliver the job using those buttons on that job's page.

    • Can I take multiple jobs at once?

Not right now. We've received feedback that people want this, and we also need to be able to ensure laundry in jobs doesn't get mixed up. As we solve this problem we will update this website and our Londr Washer support page on facebook.

    • Can I do jobs at the laundromat?

Absolutely. Check out our washer tips page for information about how going to the laundromat affects your earnings. Basically, your total earnings decrease, but your dollar per hour rate would increase.

    • How many loads fit in a bag?

Typically, a "load" is determined by the kind and color of clothes being laundered, the size of your machines, and how tightly you pack (both the machine and the Londr bag). For these reasons, a 39 gallon Londr bag contains somewhere between 2.5 and 5 loads of laundry.

    • The job doesn't match the description?

The most fair way to price laundry is to weigh it. If you suspect the job isn't the right size, load the dry laundry into a bag, and follow the instructions at www.londr.com/scale/ to weigh the job. Then text that weight to the Londr number and we will help to make adjustments if necessary.
